PwC Middle East, one of the world's largest professional services firms, announced a collaboration with the United Nations Migration Agency (IOM) in Kuwait, highlighting a shared commitment towards corporate social responsibility. This took place during PwC Middle East’s One Firm Impact Day which has been activated in 16 of their offices across 11 countries, with the firm supporting 38 NGOs. The initiative further emphasises the firm’s strategic efforts within corporate social responsibility to support a healthier planet, secure societies and robust economy. 

Through the partnership, PwC professionals in Kuwait volunteered to pack and distribute necessary food items for 110 migrant workers in the community - comprised of male and female migrant workers from various industry sectors. 

In his comments, Khalid Al Shatti, Country Senior Partner, Kuwait, PwC Middle East noted: “We are proud to partner with the UN Migration in Kuwait and are committed to working with the Kuwaiti Government and international organisations like UN Migration, to highlight the importance of corporate social responsibility and ensure quality living and working conditions for men and women in Kuwait. As a community of solvers, PwC Middle East, through its Corporate Sustainability initiatives, seeks to address the needs of the people, communities and environment in the key geographies in which we live and work, utilising our knowledge, expertise and tools to make a positive and sustainable impact.”

Recognising the involvement of more private sector in support of the UN-run initiatives, Mazen AboulHosn, Chief of Mission, International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Kuwait commented: "We are pleased to be collaborating again with PwC Middle East to support the migrant community in Kuwait. Migrant workers in Kuwait constitute a large portion of the population, and they play a key role in sustainable development. Supporting those in need requires a 'whole-of-community' approach. We must all do what we can to ensure we leave no one behind."
